Introduction

RMB3DB is a high performance micro-stepping driver based on one of the most advanced technologies in the world today. It is suitable for driving any 2-phase stepping motors. By using advanced bipolar constant-current chopping technique, it can output more speed and power from the same motor, compared with traditional technologies such as L/R drivers. Its 3-state current control technology allows coil currents to be well controlled, with relatively small current ripple and therefore less motor heating.

Applications

Suitable for a wide range of stepping motors of Nema 17 and 23, and usable for various kinds of machines, such as X-Y tables, cnc router machines, table top and bench milling machine cnc conversion, lathe cnc conversion, labeling machines, laser cutters, engraving machines, robots and pick-place devices. Extremely suitable for applications which will demand high speed, reliability and high precision

Pin Function

Details

PUL

Pulse signal: in single pulse (PUL/DIR) mode, this input represents pulse signal, effective for each upward-rising edge; in double pulse mode (CW/CCW) this input represents clockwise (CW) pulse. For reliable response, pulse width should be longer than 3μs.

DIR

DIR signal: in PUL/DIR mode, this signal has low/high voltage levels, representing two directions of motor rotation; in CW/CCW mode (set by inside jumper J2), this signal is counter-clock (CCW) pulse, effective on each rising edge. For reliable response, direction signal should be sent to driver 5μs before the first pulse of a motion direction reversal.

OPTO

Photo-coupler driving power supply.

ENA

Enable signal: this signal is used for enabling/disabling the driver. High level for enabling the driver and low level for disabling the driver. Usually left unconnected (enabled).

NOTE:

1.When ambient temperature is high or working current over 2.7A, fix the module on big metal shell , or use axle flows fan dispels the heat, to make the module run reliably for a long time.
2.Half current automatically: if control machine not send out signal in half second, driver enter half current state of automatically for electricity saving, the phase current of the winding of the electric
3.The fault phase is protected: When the double-phase electrical machinery is connected with driver, users are apt to connect the phase by mistake, thus would damage the driver seriously. The protecting circuit is within this driver, when users connect by mistake, the driver will not be damaged, but the electrical machinery runs abnormally, shake , and output is small.Please check whether the wiring of electrical machinery is a mistake.

1. When ambient temperature is high or working current over 3A, fix the driver on a heat sink to help dissipate heat or use a fan in your enclosure to dispel the heat.
2. Half current automatically: if control machine not send out signal in half second, driver enter half current state of automatically for electricity saving, the phase current of the winding of the electric
